After a successful first year, the Health Hub is back with its own dedicated pavilion.

The new Health Hub will bring a range of free health care services, from skincare to mental health, for attendees to use during the Elmore Field Days.

“We targeted a few health initiatives and health providers who would be well regarded by the rural community,” Elmore Field Days executive manager Derek Shotton said.

“We thought parts of our rural community were lacking exposure to some of the health services, so we made an effort to try and sort out a few that could help us with that.”

He said the feedback on the debut hub was good, however, the lack of its own pavilion was an issue.

“It was received quite well, and it was part of our general interest area last year, and we couldn’t sort of grow it any more in that existing pavilion,” Derek said.

“A new sponsor meant that we could actually put it in its own designated pavilion this year and reach out to more health providers and health support teams.”

He said anyone with an ache or a pain of their own, or a concern for someone they know, could get access to the service during the three days.

“We’ve tried to get a bit of everything,” Derek said.

“There’s everything from hearing checks to cancer checks to cancer support.

“They’re all focused on what, we think, might be the key areas of need for our local rural community.”

One of the most popular health stands last year was the skin cancer clinic.
Free health checks will be available again this year.
