Steve Norman wants Spandau Ballet to do a "farewell tour" to bring "closure" for the band - and so he can get a picture of his group mates hugging to use at his funeral.

The legendary new wave band's original line-up - Tony Hadley (lead vocals), Martin Kemp (bassist), Gary Kemp (lead guitarist), John Keeble (drummer) and Norman (multi-instrumentalist) - have not performed together since 2015. Hadley quit the group in 2017 due to "circumstances beyond my control".

But Norman wants his bandmates to come together one last time to close the curtain on their illustrious career because it "makes sense".

He told BANG Showbiz: "It would be lovely but, quite frankly, I try not to think about (a reunion) because I've thought about it for too long over the years."

Quizzed why he has avoided thinking about Spandau Ballet getting back together, the group's co-founding member and songwriter continued: "Because it makes sense. I've always want Spandau to do a farewell tour, it would be closure - not just for fans because we never split up, but it would be closure for the band."

Norman joked he wants to get a photo of his bandmates hugging each other so he can use it at his funeral.

The London-based group first split in 1990 amid a bitter legal dispute between Hadley, Keeble and Norman versus the Kemps over songwriting royalties.

They reformed in 2009, before Hadley quit in 2017 and was replaced with Ross William Wild. The band haven't worked together since Wild left in 2019.
