Elton John has reportedly signed a deal for a cutting-edge Las Vegas hologram residency featuring advanced tech and avatar duets with Dua Lipa and Kiki Dee.
The 79-year-old British music legend - who stepped away from touring in 2023 - is believed to have landed a mega-money deal for the show at the new Hard Rock Hotel, which opens next year.
"Elton, Dua and Kiki will be holograms. It's similar to the ABBA Voyage show in London, but far more advanced as the technology has come on so much," a source told The Sun newspaper.
"Elton signed a seven-figure deal with Hard Rock. It's a shift away from a traditional residency and is billed as a fully immersive experience. It's going to look phenomenal."
ABBA Voyage has lined the pockets of the Swedish pop legends, who reunited in the form of digital "Abba-tars" in 2022, and have played their hit tracks to millions since the virtual concert began in London that year. The virtual show uses high-tech motion capture, while their original vocals are used.
Despite scaling back his live performances, Elton shows no signs of slowing down.
He recently completed a new album - and it only exists because his eyesight troubles forced him to rebuild his entire creative process from scratch.
While accepting the prestigious Glenn Gould Prize at the Theatre at Great Canadian Casino Resort in Toronto, Elton explained his eye condition made his usual lyric-first method impossible.
"What my eye has given me is a chance of, at 80 years of age, completely reversing how I write," he said.
"I'm writing melodies first, and lyrics coming second. I've never done that. And I've just done it."
The shift sparked a creative breakthrough, resulting in an album Elton describes as unlike anything he's ever made.
"I've just done an album, which is so different to anything I've ever done before, but it's so happy. I'm so thrilled with it because it's given me another chance to make music."
