Echuca-Moama men charged after alleged Shepparton hit-and-run

Two Echuca-Moama men have been charged by police after an alleged assault and hit-and-run in Shepparton on Saturday, February 5.

A 30-year-old woman remains in hospital with critical injuries after she was struck by a car on Olympic Ave about 12.15am.

A 40-year-old man who was allegedly assaulted was also taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, but has since been released.

The silver Holden Commodore allegedly involved in the incident was found by police near Wunghnu on Monday, February 7.

A 33-year-old Moama man has since been charged with 12 offences including reckless conduct, endangering life, dangerous driving causing serious injury, affray, assault with a weapon and intentionally causing serious injury.

A 33-year-old Echuca man has been charged with affray, intentionally causing serious injury and assault with a weapon.

He has been released on bail, while the Moama man was remanded in custody, with both men to face Shepparton Magistrates’ Court in June.
