Benalla isn’t short of impressive wildlife, colourful plants, amazing vistas or talented photographers.
With entries now open for photographs to feature in the 2023 Goulburn Broken Catchment calendar, why not submit one of your photos?
The popular calendar is known for its fantastic collection of local images and information on flora, fauna and natural landscapes.
Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority project co-ordinator Janice Mentiplay-Smith said the calendar photo competition was a great way for local people to showcase their skills with photos of plants, animals and the environment.
“Each year we produce and distribute 5000 calendars across the region,” Ms Mentiplay-Smith said.
“The competition has been running for more than a decade now and entering it has become quite a tradition for keen photographers and nature lovers.
“The images in this year’s 2022 calendar were chosen from more than 350 entries.”
Preference is given to photographs of local plants or animals in their natural state, insects, waterways or other natural features.
“We always receive extremely positive feedback on the quality of the calendar, and the fact it contains amazing images of the local environment, taken by local people,” Ms Mentiplay-Smith said.
“I encourage everyone to grab their camera and get out into the natural environment and see what they can find.”
Photos must be colour, between 2 and 10MB, in a landscape format and be a JPEG image.
