Heavy rain and thunderstorms late Saturday and early Sunday caused flash flooding in areas of Shepparton.
Shepparton Search and Rescue president Nacole Standfield on Sunday morning said there was no need for concern over flash flooding.
“A lot of people see flash flooding and panic thinking it will flood again,” Mrs Standfield said.
“It will subside, it might take an hour or two, but it will go eventually.
“Some drains are backed up and not coping with this rain, but it will slowly go down.
“However, if you see flash flooding avoid it and don’t drive through it.”
About 25mm to 40mm of heavy rain and thunderstorms were predicted for Sunday with a chance of damaging winds and large hail falls.
There is a 90 per cent of 3mm to 6mm of rain on Monday with the wild weather settling down for the week from Tuesday onwards.
